There isn't much to Two Door Cinema Club's barely awaited debut is fully of innovative riffs and sounds that captivate the ear like no other. Some of my other favorites off this album include “I Can Talk” and “What You Know.” These songs are fairly similar to “Undercover Martyn,” with a faster tempo and catchy lyrics.Īll in all, I would rate Tourist History a solid 9/10. The songs continue on that path of either fast-paced and upbeat, to more grungy music that rock fans would enjoy. This is my favorite song on the album, and hence earns a 10/10. The upbeat, fast-paced tempo keeps the listener moving, but the lyrics are quite sad. The intro got popular on TikTok during 2018, for good reason.

The third song on the album, “Undercover Martyn,” is one of the band’s most well-known songs. This song is a little worse than the first song on the album, meriting a 6/10, still solid, just too different from the previous song. The beginning is a crescendo of synths, followed by a nice drum and guitar beat. The next song, “Come Back Home,” is a little slower, but is much more emphatic. Rating a 7/10 in my book, the slightly faster pace adds depth to the words, and the overall beat is very catchy. The first song, “Cigarettes in the Theatre” reflects on how simple activities, like taking a smoke break, can lead to meaningful relationships.

The three musicians, Alex Trimble, Sam Halliday, and Kevin Baird, have all done vocals on their music. Released in February of 2010, the lp consists of 10 songs, resulting in a run time of just over thirty minutes. “Tourist History,” an album by the UK group Two Door Cinema Club, is the group’s first full album.
